New Support in 2010

Posted by Scott on August 31st, 2010

Grant has been very fortunate to receive the support of First Home Mortgage this year. Close family friend and loan officer, Rich Alex, has stepped up to help his racing efforts. Rich has been a friend since college and has closed all of our home loans. The level of customer service through his team is unparalleled. Everyone who has used his services at my recommendation has thanked me for the introduction.  If you are considering a refinance or a new home, do yourself a favor and at least get in touch with Rich and see if he can provide a better deal than your current lender.

Ted Britt Ford opened its doors in Fairfax in March 1959. It was through the efforts of the founder “Texas” Ted Britt, that the dealership was started and it is with great pride that our family continues to operate the store very successfully after 45 years in business. Born in Junction, “Texas” Ted Britt was famous in the entire DC area for his white cowboy hat and his “we trade anything” motto.Ted Britt Ford’s first location was where Mastercraft Interiors now operates across from Jim McKay Chevrolet in Fairfax, Virginia. In 1961 the dealership was relocated to a new building just up the road on Lee Highway (now Browns Mazda). In 1986 the dealership moved to the present location at 11165 Main Street in Fairfax, Virginia. When we first moved in here we were only 85 employees who thought the over 42,000 square feet building would never be outgrown. Through honest hard work and dedication to customer service Ted Britt has grown to 5 locations and over 300 employees. In December 2002 Ford Motor Company honored our company by awarding us the first new Ford franchise in the DC region in over 30 years. Our newest facility, Ted Britt Ford - Chantilly opened January 1, 2003 in the Dulles Auto Park in Chantilly, VA. With state of the art technology, a customer friendly facility, and a customer service driven staff this new dealership promises to continue our history of good service and great value started by our founder over 45 years ago.

On Feb. 11, 2006 at the National Automobile Dealer’s Association Convention and Exposition Forddirect.com named Ted Britt the 2005 Ford Internet Dealer of the Year.

We invite you to visit us and discover why Ted Britt Ford is the best place to buy a Ford in America.

Sponsored By: Arciero Racing

Posted by Scott on March 3rd, 2006

Ryan Arciero is continuing a long legacy of Arciero Racing activities that date back to the mid-1950s. Founded by Italian immigrants Frank Arciero (Ryan’s Grandfather) and his brother Phil, Arciero Racing became a constant in the sport and has launched and promoted the careers of racing’s finest drivers, including Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, Jim Clark, Bobby and Al Unser, Roger Penske, Phil Hill, Michael Andretti, Robby Gordon, Didier Theys, Scott Pruett, Geoff Brabham, Fabrizio Barbazza, and Max Papis. In fact, Bobby Unser became an Arciero driver at age twenty-three, and his younger brother Al moved into racing with the Arciero Team - going straight to the Indy 500 - in 1965. Click HERE for some pics of some of the historical Arciero racers.

The family’s activities were not limited to the promotion of good racers, however. Ryan’s father, Frank, Jr. (Butch) , and uncle, Albert, are both highly successful off-road drivers. Butch won numerous championships in the SCORE and Mickey Thompson Off-Road Series. Ryan’s brother (and one-time off-road co-pilot) Robert, is a highly-skilled mechanic for road racing teams.

Outside of racing, the Arciero name is nationally known for it’s beautiful Arciero Winery in Paso Robles (maker of Arciero and EOS brand wines), as well as it’s Southern California-based construction company.

The fact that there is an Arciero racing in the field is an instant and attractive story - and one that will be well received in racing circles. The family, and Ryan especially, have worked hard to build a winning reputation and a brand synonymous with speed, talent, quality, and integrity.

Olympus Imported Auto Parts

Olympus was founded in 1977 as Olympic Imported Parts Corp. Operating out of a small, single bay warehouse and showroom in Alexandria, Virginia, we were established as a full line imported car parts outlet for a much larger importer of German car parts. We sold and delivered parts to professional repair facilities, service stations and chains as well as the “do it yourself” walk-in customers.

With seven employees and three delivery vehicles, even in the formative, early years, our focus was on providing professional and DIY mechanics the highest quality import parts available, pricing it right and getting it there fast!.

In the fall of 1986, Michael Brown, then store manager, purchased the assets of Olympic Imported Parts Corp. of Virginia from the original owner, Karl Flicker. It was a scary time. The receivables of the company were about the same as the newly acquired debt service, so it was vital to keep overhead low and just go crazy growing the sales of the company. In those early days, everyone was responsible for everything: salesmen sold parts, posted inventory, pulled their own orders, and usually stayed until late at night restocking our inventory. We believed that whether we succeeded or not, no one was going to outwork us.

Through the 1980s & 90’s, the import car market was growing at an exceptional rate and so was our company. Sales were increasing, our delivery fleet was expanding, as was the work required to keep up with our growth. Additional warehouse space was soon needed to house our ever-expanding inventory. What began as a small business with a handful of employees gradually became a fast growing, thriving enterprise. In fact, the Washington Business Journal in 1995 presented us with their “Fast Track” award for being among the fastest growing businesses in the Washington, D.C. area in the category of distribution.

After 27 years, it was time get a fresh new look for our company and in 2004, we dressed up our company vehicles with our new “energy-laced” logo and changed our name from Olympic to Olympus Imported Auto Parts. It is not possible to travel the roads of the D.C. area without seeing our flashy and friendly Olympus Scion XB’s.
